Luxury Shepherd’s Hut in the Northumberland Countryside

Our shepherd’s hut is set in a quiet corner of the Northumberland countryside, 10 miles North from Hexham, surrounded by rolling fields and open views. It’s a peaceful, tucked-away location that feels a world away from busy towns and everyday life - ideal if you’re looking for a proper break.

The Setting

Here, the pace is slower. You’ll wake up to birds chirping, watch the light change across the fields, and enjoy uninterrupted views in every direction. With very little light pollution, the night skies are just as special - perfect for evenings spent outside or in the hot tub. Our Shepherd’s Hut near Hexham is completely unique, designed and built by experienced craftsmen to a high British standard. Set on a steel chassis with a strong, well-insulated structure, it’s finished with quality fixtures and materials throughout, including an olive green exterior and double-glazed windows. The hut measures 22ft by 9ft and is thoughtfully equipped for off-grid living, powered by solar energy and supplied with fresh spring water, with a Calor gas cooker for added convenience. You enter through wide French doors - perfect for opening up on warmer days  with a handy wooden storage box on the decking for outdoor footwear. Inside, the space feels surprisingly generous, with natural hessian-covered walls, oak flooring, timber cladding, a handcrafted kitchen, log burner, L-shaped seating area, double bed, and a compact bathroom with shower. To preserve the peaceful setting, parking is located around 300 metres away, with a short walk to the hut adding to the sense of escape.
